This is an entirely different recipe, but oddly enough is another tortellini bake.
1 lb Ground beef
8 oz low fat cream cheese
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Start some water to boil for the tortellini. Heat up a stainless steel skillet.
Brown your ground beef. Drain the grease out as best as you can. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. Use as little or as much as your heart desires.
When the water starts to boil, cook your tortellini according to the package instructions.
Once the ground beef is cooked, pour in your pasta sauce. Use whatever kind you like, we used my homemade canned sauce I made a few months back.
Once your sauce is hot, cube up your cream cheese and mix it into the sauce.
Pour the tortellini into the sauce and stir gently to combine. Cover with some mozzarella cheese. I sprinkled some freshly grated Parmesan cheese on as well, but totally up to you.
Bake for about 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted. Then broil for about 3 more minutes to give a little bit of a crisp to the cheese. Serve with garlic bread.
This was so good guys. I have a strange dislike of creamy red sauce, and I loved this. I don’t know what it is about a good red sauce, but I typically think adding cream to it is the epitome of terrible. I gave this a go because I was trying to find some ways to use up my sauce (I burnt it and this wasn’t a great batch but I wasn’t willing to throw it out so we’ve just been eating smoky sauce) and tried this out. I highly suggest using half the ingredients and halving the recipe if there’s any less than 5 people eating. We made entirely too much and will eat on this for days now.
